While you sleep....
Each night and most nap times, after my two daughters are in bed, I head down to our finished basement. My husband and I have divided it (I'd like to say equally) into his and her's rooms. His side is rather obviously called The Man Cave. My side is frequently called the sweatshop, the dungeon, or a mess. I dream about the day that it looks like this. I use my portion of the basement to house the supplies, workspace, and finished goods for my business Foxy Baby Designs. Almost two years ago I decided to start a home based business creating accessories for children. I did my first craft fair in November of 2009. I've been creating and selling my goods ever since. I sell on Etsy, in several local locations, and I have some wholesale accounts now as well. I am constantly working to make my business better, as well as give it a personal feel. I use social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter as a way to connect and interact with my customers. I attend seminars and join online forums all in an effort to improve. I'm constantly working on improving existing items, as well as creating new items. Its a lot of work for one person, and I struggle daily with balance. When does the vacuuming get done, the dishes, the dusting? I've started to think a full, unfolded laundry basket is just part of my homes decor. All the while taking care of two kids, and trying to mold them into decent, autonomous, intelligent, confident members of society. Getting everything done requires organization, time management, and very little sleep. I'm constantly trying to figure out how to balance and organize it all. I crave tips from women, or men, who have figured out the secret. So PLEASE share your secrets with me. Other then copious amounts of caffeine I figured that one out already.
